Kirsten has been an invaluable teacher and resource for our family as we have learned to navigate life with two dyslexic kids. Our oldest daughter was consistently below the benchmark in reading in Kindergarten, and remained below benchmark at the beginning of first grade. I met with her teachers and was told they had "identified her holes and were working to fill them in". In my gut, I knew something didn't seem right. Kirsten listened to my concerns and opened my eyes to the challenging world of reading disabilities.
As someone who grew up without a reading differences, Kirsten has shown me that she understands both my daughters' struggles, as well as mine. She is a caring and empathetic teacher, having navigated dyslexia for herself as well as her own children. She offers guidance to help advocate for your child within the school system and offers tools and suggestions for how you can help your kids at home. My husband and I often comment "Can you imagine where we would be if we didn't have Mrs. O'Sullivan?"
